Telecomm

Rogers, Telus, Bell Mobility…...

There was an article online at the CBC, (http//www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008/06/17/telecom-complaints.html)
It outlines a complaint made by Rogers about the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services, or CCTS. Rogers is stating that “they do not want to abolish the CCTS, it is just a waste of money.” Canada’s CRTC formed the group to regulate the industry which otherwise governs itself. Rogers chief complaint in the article is that Rogers has paid $400,000 to resolve 400 complaints with the CCTS, since July 2007. There argument to support the disassociation is that it is a customer service problem and that competition will take care of these complaints; If you aren’t satisfied with the service you will find another provider……
I find this whole argument to be atrocious given that Rogers and there competition have all converged together on manipulative tactics, Long term contracts and unbelievable nickel and dime charges. I.E. $8.95 system access fee. I would like to agree with the point that, if unhappy with your provider you can switch providers. However the primary problem is, if you attempt to leave your provider it will cost you $400 and then some, after calculating all the unknown nickel and dime underhanded, hidden charges.

If ever an industry that has forced the population into regulating it due to egregious in justices; the telecommunications industry is it. If not only for the attempt to prevent gorging from going any further, the telecomm industry is a large part of the countries development. Communications infrastructure has been a vital gauge of national development, and has unprecedented effects, on the flow of getting business done.
In playing such a major role in society it is not Okay that Canada pays almost double than our U.S. neighbours for information services, which our systems are equal to that of a dinosaur when compared to the large majority of other nations, and despite HUGE profits, find a way to take advantage of every single customer without technologically developing the systems since its conception, outside of upsizing. In effect making our systems not even compatible with the advanced systems in place throughout most of Europe, and a lot of Asia.

Child Infant mortality rate per 1000 births….

Take a look at this list of countries, and there infant birth deaths per 1000. This info is available at the CIA world fact book web site, and is current as of 2008. What the F&*% is going on? For the $160 + billion we spent on healthcare, we end up with results lesser than countries like Andorra, Macau, Malta, and the other 27 countries ahead of Canada in this measurement of more than just infant loss of life, and suffering of parents. It is also a measure of fiscal efficiency, technological advancements and there mass application, government compassion and motivations, and systematic modernization in the face of the world population doubling from 1965 to present.
With the allotted money for healthcare, and the 10 billion dollar surplus, why don’t we send an envoy to these countries and do some homework? The investment might yield some ideas as to why we cannot keep up with these Icelandic’s?…..

Canada 5.08

I realize that I take a lot of aim at the healthcare system, and this is because I have been exposed to it on many levels, private, provincial (in three different provinces), and military. I cannot begin to say enough about the people who do there best in the system everyday, and I thank all of those workers. Nice and Evil alike!!! Just because the hospital peeled your rump out of a pile of rubble and fixed your broken back, does not justify the dismissal of fiscal irresponsibility, and stone age regulations and regulators. The management of the system will put the people and the country in a better spot. Physically, mentally, fiscally. Our children will be able to enjoy the same and better health rights if we reform intellectually with the evolution of society.

Banking Goons

Today I decided that I was completly fed up with the banking institutions, so took a look at some Scary Stats in regards to our beloved Canadian financial institutions.

Canadian Bank Profits 2007

ScotiaBank 4.05 BILLION
Royal Bank of Canada 5.49 BILLION (New Canadian Record)
TD Bank 4.00 BILLION
CIBC 3.30 BILLION
Bank of Montreal 2.13 BILLION

WHY IS THIS OKAY?

There is a CBC story regarding how the Banks are possibly going to be refusing to follow the interest rate cuts made by the Bank of Canada? I CAN'T IMAGINE WHY? (see above!)
http://www.cbc.ca/money/story/2008/01/16/primerate.html

TD Bank chief executive Ed Clark was paid $14.2 million in 2007
Royal Bank CEO Brad Nixon was given almost $13 million in direct compensation in 2007
Scotia Bank CEO Richard Waugh was paid 9.4 million in direct compensation
CIBC CEO John Hunkin was paid 9.4 million as well,

How much did the banks do for you this year?

I decided that I would call the banks employees in a random fasion and demand that they justify there employment under a criminal institution. I also asked if there employment would constitute conspiricy to commit theft charges! As you can imagine, I got alot of, uhhhhhh Click.

I was thoughful enough to record my 75 conversations, however was called by one of the banks and warned of being sued, and givin there income as stated above, I thought I might back off!

However, feel free to inquire yourself, some of the banks even have facebook pages....
Who are the ingnorant people who fill there memberships?
How did so many people become so complacant?
Well I decided to message 200 of these folks and ask for myself! Again out of lawsuit evasion I will not name these folks but Maybe I got one person to see the error of there ways, and that is good enough for me untill my resources expand.

Who Needs an MRI before they Die?

Mount Sinia Hospital says,
``For some patients, quick access to an MRI can literally spell the difference between life and death. "If you have cancer, you can't afford to wait long for an MRI scan so you can be treated, Even in less drastic cases, improved access to MRI imaging will have a significant impact on patient care outcomes.`` (http://www.mtsinai.on.ca/publications/YHRSummer2001/newmri.htm)

Ontario, which is reportedly has the best wait times in the country, (probably due to the amount of MRI machines it possesses, 6 times what N.L, PEI, N.S, and N.B combined possesses ,) reported a 107 day wait as of Mar. 2008, the best it’s ever been.

The ramifications for such a number are so dramatic on a human cost level, it seems to me it is hard to justify the National Defence budget of 18.2 Billion dollars. If we can afford to kill to the tune 18 billion..... Billion. What are we to say about not being able to afford the MRI units which cost about 12 - 13 million?

CBC, the government run broadcaster, reported that wait times cost the Canadian public about 14.8 Billion a year in through lost workers, overworking of our nurses, and excess/ duplicated tests. And let us not forget the Surplus for 2006 and 2007.

Stats Can reports as follows,

“The nation's federal, provincial, territorial and local governments, as well as the Canada/Quebec Pension Plans, recorded a combined surplus of $29 billion in 2007, up slightly from the $28-billion surplus in 2006.
The record $29-billion surplus mark was reached only twice in the last 20 years. The 2007 surplus was a result of revenues of $603 billion and expenditures of $575 billion.”
Anybody have a calculator?
http://www.statcan.ca/Daily/English/070614/d070614a.htm

Canada`s population according Stats Can is 33,247,893 people as of April 08, with a growth rate of 1 person every minute and a half.
Number of MRI machines in the country, 196 as of 2007.
That is 1 MRI device per 169,632 persons; however that doesn’t take into account the distribution of the machines, for which Yukon, N.W.T., Nunavut, P.E.I, and N.L. have a combined 3 MRI Machines.
http://secure.cihi.ca/cihiweb/en/mit_dec2006_tab1_e.html

To put that number into perspective, consider this; Pittsburgh alone has more MRI machines than ALL OF CANADA.
http://healthcare-economist.com/2008/02/11/pittsburgh-has-more-mri-machines-than-canada/

This predicament has spurred the creation of what is becoming privatized Canadian healthcare. The for profit health system that has made the United States famous for killing off it’s sick and weak, is literally already in place in our country.

If this kind of de construction of the healthcare system, were to take place in England, France, Spain, Austria, Italy, San Marino, Singapore, Malta, Japan, Andorra, Omen, Portugal, Norway, or any of the other 29 countries that out rate our healthcare system, it would result in a revolution.

But we sit idle, while the gene pool winners in Ottawa defecate on there countrymen.
The best part of being Canadian is having the ability to force change. I invite you to contact the following “REPRESENTATIVES” to demand that your children, you and your elders; (you know the ones who stopped us from becoming Nazi’s) get the system back into the hands of the voters.
